President Goodluck Jonathan promises quality education in Yobe State, donates 200 million   PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has donated N200 million for the furnishing and equipping of yobe state university library named after him in Yobe State. The president, who was at the Yobe State University to inaugurate the library, also commended Governor Ibraim Geidam for the scrupulous use of resources available to the state in impacting on the lives of the people. He said one of the ways in which to encourage the youth towards making them good instrument for development is through good and education, and as such, he promised that his government would help the state in achieving this goal. He also added that government would ensure that the basic need towards achieving quality education in Yobe State is achieved.

Our correspondent who was in lagos state university (lasu) reports that there is no such killings in and outside the school as the school is peaceful and the situation of things around the school premises is very much under control. The student union president of the school, comrade agbomeji olatunji, 300l, disclosed that damino damoche was murdered outside the school and not inside the school. “He was a student of the school and people think he was not a student but a full time musician. Boy, 10, Emerges Nigeria’s Youngest Microsoft Certified Professional

A JSS 1 pupil of Valencia College, Ibadan, Oyo State, has done his school proud by becoming one of the youngest kids that have obtained the Microsoft Certified Professional certificate A 10-year-old pupil, Seyi-Ojo Anjolaoluwa, has emerged the youngest Nigerian Microsoft certified professional and one of the youngest people in the world to attain such feat. Born on July 21, 2002 to the family of Dr and Mrs Anjolaoluwa, the chubby boy participated in the MCIP test on July 24, 2012. He scored 869 out of possible 1,000. Due to his performance, he was adjudged by Microsoft as a certified professional in Microsoft Windows XP (Administration Management and Configuration, Exam 70 – 270). Anjolaoluwa, a JSS1 pupil of Valencia College, Ibadan, Oyo State, has thus joined the league of world’s set of young Microsoft certified professionals, including Lavinashree, an eight-year-old Indian, and two Pakistanis, named Arfa and Thobani. Why Damilola aka Damino Damoche Was Murdered

It is no longer news that budding Nigerian hip hop act, Olaniyan Damilola aka Damino Damoche is dead following two gunshots; one to the head and another to his left wrist but what might be news is, Damino was killed due to his association with campus fraternity in his school, the Lagos State University, LASU. News we are monitoring indicate that the attack was a reprisal from a rival gang, as Damoche was alleged to be a member of a confraternity on the campus – deadly clashes between members of rival cults on campuses is not new. It would be recalled that Damoche was shot dead at about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday by suspected campus fraternity gangs outside the school premises. Eyewitnesses said Damoche who was a final year student of Banking and Finance had just finished writing a class assessment when he was gunned down by his assailants who were on a motor bike.

Again, Soldiers, Policemen Brutalize Students Of ABSU

Students of Abia State University, ABSU, who were on a peaceful demonstration to protest the planned revocation of the degree awarded former governor of the state, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu by the institution, were molested by soldiers and policemen yesterday. The students who had converged on the administrative block as early as 7am to prevent a Senate meeting over the matter – which is believed to be the continuation of the persecution of the former governor, were beaten black and blue and whisked away by combined team of soldiers and mobile policemen. The protest had started in a peaceful manner and within thirty minutes, the team of security operatives stormed the campus, beating every student on sight, including those who were not part of the protest. Okada Takes The Blame For Damoche’s Murder As Fashola Justifies Ban

The menace of commercial motorcycle operation, popularly known as okada, has once again been brought to the fore with the brutal murder of rising hip hop act and student of Lagos State University, LASU, Damilola Olaniyan Ibrahim aka Damino Damoche, last Thursday by gunmen on Okada. Prior to Damoche’s murder, the activities of okada had been restricted in the state, and now, the state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, is blaming okada for the death of the singer. Condemning the gruesome killing of Damilola, Fashola urged residents to see reason for restriction of commercial Okada operators in the state.
