few turnouts in lasu today as banks reject payment

Very few potential student turned out today for screening as many of these student obviously can not afford the newly introduced school fees. The student union is said to have written to banks affiliated to lagos state university not to accept any form of payment from the freshers as reports has gotten to the student union that some of the banks have collected money already from them.

Fulani Herdsmen Kill 3, Burn Houses In Nasarawa

Three people were yesterday killed, while several houses were razed in some Tiv settlements in Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. Among the three persons killed was Personal Assistant to the state Commissioner for Community and Rural Development, Mr. Godwin Mbatsav who was said to have met his untimely death at Abuni village, while searching for his wife who was among those displaced when some of the gunmen invaded the area. Eyewitnesses said the corpse of one of the victims, identified as James Orjime, had been deposited at Sandanji Hospital mortuary in Lafia. The third victim has also been identified as Mrs. Timbee Unzughul of Gidan Chiakaa of Jangaru ward in Awe Local Council. Her step son, Christoper Unzughul, escaped with gunshot injuries and is reportedly receiving medical treatment in an undisclosed hospital in the state. OSAGIE ASSUMES OFFICE AS SHELL MD

A new Managing Director for Shell Petroleum Development Company, Mr. Osagie Okunbor, has assumed office, succeeding Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu, who retired on Saturday after 36 years of service. Okunbor’s appointment was announced in January while he was serving as a Senior Advisor in Shell’s Upstream International Operated   business   in The Hague, the Netherlands.
