Wanted! A Husband for N10 Billion”: Man Places Money on the Head of His Lesbian Daughter
A property magnate, Cecil Chao Sze-tsung, one of Hong Kong’s wealthiest men has reserved a “marriage bounty” of £40 million (about N10 Billion) for the man who successfully woos and wins the heart of his lesbian daughter to marry her.
The 33-year-old daughter, Gigi Chao, a University of Manchester graduate, is reported to have had married her long-term female partner in France. Upon hearing this, her father had placed HK$500 million reward on the girl.
According to the father, “I don’t mind whether he is rich
or poor. The important thing is that he is generous and kind-hearted.”
Also, Mr Chao has refused to accept that his daughter is actually
married to another woman, telling the South China Morning Post that
reports about his daughter’s marriage are “false”.
Speaking about the prize money, he said it was “an inducement to attract someone who has the talent but not the capital to start his own business… Gigi is a very good woman with both talents and looks. She is devoted to her parents, is generous and does volunteer work.” he added.
Meanwhile, reports have it that Ms Chao married Sean Eav, her girlfriend of seven years, in France on April 4. But Mr Chao, who has never married himself, insists that his daughter was still single and needed a “good husband”. On her part, Ms Chao said she found her father’s plan entertaining and would not worry about it until an actual suitor had been found.
